Oh, and I've seen the colored duct tape, which Michaels calls "Duck Tape." It's still duct tape, and it still reeks of failure.

I remember that as a kid, my family used duct tape to fix everything. Pipes, broken windows, upholstery. I can still vividly remember the feel of car seats that were more duct tape than vinyl sticking to the backs of my legs in the sweaty Michigan summers.

Duct tape is ugly. Our first apartment was covered in duct tape because, I guess, that was the landlord's choice of fixing things. The place I remember most vividly was the duct tape around the kitchen sink drain. No, that didn't make me worried at all.... Have you been to Michaels lately? You can now buy colored duct tape so you make those lovely? duct tape crafts you've always wanted to try. LOL

So got another giggle out of me today! I, too, used to hate duct (what I forever thought was duck) tape... that is until it started coming in a wonderful assortment of colors, especially purple, of course! What I find hard to believe is that with Mark's love of gadgets, you don't have one of those robot things... wow, you must really find vacuuming meditative that you don't have one!
