Revelation

A revealing of some truth.

A truth that was obscure before, beyond one’s comprehension or awareness.

Now made clear.

Sigh.

This week, I have posts from three exceptional writers about moments of revelation.

Moments of truth revealed.

John from The Daddyo Dude: Unfiltered

The post I am linking is called Burning Down the House. John described this post to me as, “A little fictional spin on my real life thinking.”  It’s about taking a step back from your life and seeing that what you have built for yourself?

Is not what you want.

You know what you want, but you have settled into a here that is something less.

John writes of that moment of realizing that the only way to force himself to start the journey from here to there is to burn down the here.

Burn down the here and move forward.

Ginger from Ramble Ramble

The post I am linking is called A Moment. It’s about a small moment in a busy mom’s day.  A moment of small and exquisite gifts from her son.

A kiss.

A touch.

A gaze.

A smile.

A small moment in which the world stops for a mother and child.  I was struck by Ginger’s ability to appreciate the moment’s magic in that moment.  To really see her son and value his gifts.

He gives her sudden and delicious knowledge of how she is valued.

Love that.

Varda of The Squashed Bologna: A slice of life in the sandwich generation

Varda’s blog name always makes me laugh, because if the blogging world is set upon a banquet table?  Varda’s writing is not the bologna.  Her writing is rich and varied and intelligent and demanding and deep.  She writes in layers and shades of meaning, and her words are deliberate.

Not bologna.

Snort!

The post I am linking is called Baggage.

A moment in which Varda looks at the bags she has packed by the door.

She sees the bags packed at the door and sees all that they represent about what is and what will never be.

I connected to this post in a different way than Varda might have anticipated, but I connected.

People?

Each of the posts I am featuring this week reached out and touched me.

Three moments of revelation.

What was obscure made clear.

Love that.

These posts will be linked under Featured Bloggers for the next week.

Go check them out!

They are amazing.

    • You like me, you really like me! (snort)

Kris, you know that you are one of my “bloggy heroes,” one of the writers I consider my blogging mentors.

When I was still relatively new to this blogging thing, trying to figure out what I could and couldn’t get away with in the blogosphere? I looked to you:

Could I be this real, this raw?. Yes, look at Kris. Make them cry one day and laugh the next? Well, Kris does it, so it must be OK. How about within the same post? Why not!

So I want to say thank you. It means so much to have you choose me as a featured blogger. (And did I mention that today is my blogaversary?)

Also? Big wet sloppy cyber-kisses to you (just because I know that will make you go “Ack!” and it’s so FUN to do that).

      • Varda -

I knew your blogaversary was coming up, but I did not realize it was today!

        Congratulations!

        That’s amazing. You are amazing.

        As for the other?

        ACK!

    • Those were some great posts Kris, thanks for sharing! :)

    • Love your featured bloggers. when I’ve clicked over, I have never been disappointed.

      thanks.

    • I’m totally honored to be featured! And am blushing a little by the lovely words you’ve written about my post.
      Thank you!
